Fighting for US Cruising in 2021

We have some important cruise line news to cover this week. Some cruise lines are finding ways around the CDCs cruise ban, the Florida governor threatens legal action all while Disney cruise lines are introducing a new itinerary. All that and more so be sure to check out our cruise news today.

Our first cruise line news update has to do with the CDC who continues to ban cruising in the United states, which is one of the biggest cruise markets. As you would expect the cruise lines are trying to find another way to offer cruising to people in North America.  Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Crystal Cruises are all searching for and working with countries whose health agencies are allowing cruising. Some of the countries include Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean islands. This is an important CDC cruise update because last week the CDC stated that they will not lift their conditional order and it will stay in place until November 2021.

The Governor of Florida is making the news this week as he has has threatened to file a lawsuit if they are not allowed to resume cruising from US ports soon. Florida offers the most cruises out of all the states and has three of the world's busiest ports which are Miami, Port Canaveral and Port Everglades. The cruise industry generates billions of dollars for the US economy. Desantis is arguing that with more testing and vaccines there is more risk in air and train travel than cruising and that we have seen cruising resume in different countries and not be tied to any more outbreaks.

Our last cruise news item is about Disney. The Disney Cruise line is going to be offering something new in the UK this summer, Staycations. We heard about these in Europe last year but not from Disney. Departing from London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool and Southampton, they will be offering two to four night round trip sailings.

We hope that you liked our cruise line news today. Do you think there will be cruising in the US this summer? Will you be flying to the Caribbean to cruise? Are there any cruise ship news stories you would like us to cover?
