One of the most unique dining experiences at Walt Disney World an perhaps one of the most historic is the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue. Situated in the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds on Bay Lake this is definitely a dining experience you need to book! With its mix of fun music, hilarious story and audience involvement kids (or adults) of all ages are almost guaranteed to love this unique and historic experience also, the fired chicken and strawberry shortcake are amazing!
Set in Pioneer Hall a troop of traveling entertainers will entertain you and your family at this Frontier themed outpost. You can expect a foot stomping and informal experience here where you can let loose and have some real turn of the century fun! In between entertainment will be your food. This is an all you care to enjoy meal that is “family style” meaning the menu is set. Overall the entertainment and atmosphere poke fun at themselves and the time period but in a fun, energetic way. You will not be disappointed by this experience and with its setting in Fort Wilderness even as you leave you will still feel that frontier vibe!
You will be seated at tables on one of two tiers. There is an upstairs “balcony” area however I don’t recommend eating up there as your view can be blocked if you are in the second row. That said it is less expensive to be seated upstairs so if thats what fits your budget I still highly suggest going!
Food & Drink
Drinks here are bottomless including the alcohol which is a good point when it comes to value. Similar to other dining shows at Walt Disney World such as the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Polynesian hotel. The food you can expect here is also themed similar to what you may think of back in the frontier times which means you will get:
- Crispy Fried Chicken – This is amazing! If you have a hankering for more but don’t want to pay for the show again you can make a stop in Trail’s End Restaurant right next-door
- Smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs – They are great, not as good as some ribs you may get at your local smoked rib joint but for the mass of people they will very much enjoy these
- Strawberry Shortcake – This is another amazing dessert. Get more, you’ll love it.
As sides you will get seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes and cowboy beans. There are all really good so enjoy!
Your drinks as I said are bottomless including the alcohol. There is a pretty good drink assortment and that includes:
- Frontera Chardonnay or Merlot
- Bud Light or Yuengling Draft Beer
- Beso Del Sol Red Sangria
- Beso Del Sol White Sangria
and for those who are not looking for anything with alcohol the non-alcoholic drinks are as follows:
- Diet Coke
- Fanta Orange
- Barqs Root Beer
- Minute Maid Lemonaide
- Light Pomegranate Lemonade
- Unsweetened Iced Tea
- Minute Maid Apple Juice
- Chocolate Milk
- Hot Tea
- Joffrey’s Coffee
At $64 to $72 per adult and $38 to $43 for children (aged 3-9) this isn’t going to be a “cheep” dinner however when you couple together the amazing show, great food, free drinks, unique dining and interactivity this restaurant has its definitely worth being high on your list for a special night out.
Also for those adults in the crowd don’t forget your alcoholic beverages are also included here so drink up and enjoy! If you really just want the food without all the hassle of the show you can head next door at Trails End Resturant.
This will cost you 2 table service credits on the Disney Dining Plan.
With such a great and unique show and amazing dining options this is a must do at Disney World. The cost may be a bit high but overall the value of this restaurant is definitely there. The food is constantly good, the show is always great and its such a great family friendly experience. With all that said head on to the link below and make reservations for the next time you’re staying at Disney World!
