Cruise Line News | No more Muster Drills - Is Greece Opening too Soon?

There is a lot to cover in this weeks cruise line news. Royal Caribbean has created a new way of doing muster drills, Greece has opened 6 of their ports, the CDC wants to hear from you and more. You won't want to miss out on all the latest cruise news.

For many people the muster drill dampens their first day of cruising excitement. It also requires large groups of people to congregate. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has created Muster 2.0. Passengers still need to complete the muster drill before the cruise ship can leave port but now they can do it on their mobile device. Emuster allows passengers to use an app or their stateroom TV to review safety protocols and then visit the muster station in their own time. This will help prevent large groups from gathering together and reduce the risks of COVID19. What other cruise line updates do you want to see to feel comfortable cruising again?

Another big piece of cruise line news today is that Greece has opened 6 of their ports. We have already seen some cruises in Europe which have left from a country, not stopped at any ports and returned. Greece is dependent on tourism for income and would like to get some tourists visiting before this travel season is done. Some people will question if they have opened too soon. They will be following the EU Healthy Gateways Guidelines to ensure passenger, crew and locals health and safety. If you want to know about the EU Healthy Gateways Guidelines we made two videos reviewing the document you will want to check out.

The CDC is still looking at what cruising will look like in the future. Before cruise line resume sailing CDC is asking for your input. They are looking at cruise ship planning and infrastructure, resumption of passenger operations, and summary questions. We might be seeing more changes to the cruise line industry to ensure passenger, crew and locals healthy and safety. They are accepting written responses until September 21st. The questions are on the following website where you can either complete the online portal or mail in your response.
