JW Marriott Lake Rosseau, Muskoka - RESORT TOUR

Are you looking to experience Canada’s great outdoors while enjoying the amenities of a resort? If you are then the JW Marriott Lake Rosseau is the place for you. Today will give you an in-depth resort tour so you have all the information you need to plan your trip.

This resort is Canada’s first JW Marriott Resort and Spa. It is located on the beautiful Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, which is known as Ontario’s Cottage Country. Depending on traffic it is only a 2.5 hour drive from Toronto. A nice and easy distance to leave after work and enjoy a long weekend. If you are flying the closest international airports are Toronto Pearson Airport and Billy Bishop Airport. You will still have a 2-3 hour drive.

If you are interested in a Muskoka cottage trip but are not in interested the work that a cottage has then a resort is a great option. The Rosseau has 4 floors with a total of 127 rooms and 94 suites. It is a smoke free hotel and pets are not allowed. Parking is complimentary as is the wifi which is available in guests rooms, lobby and public areas and meeting rooms. We found the internet was very slow in our room but much better in the main lobby.

In the rooms there is air conditioning which is nice in Ontario’s hot summers and a fire place for the winters. Some of the general room amenities are crib, ironing board and iron, pull out sofa, and a kitchenette. In the kitchenette there is a coffee maker, bottled water, mini fridge, conventional oven, microwave, pots and pans, toaster, stove top and more. In our room all the amenities were in working order. Everything was also clean and in good condition. We made good use of the mini fridge. It was larger than usual ones with a good freezer section and enjoyed using the stove top to make tea in the mornings.

There are lots of dining options on property if you don't feel like preparing food in your room or going out after a fun day on the water.  Cottages Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with great views of Lake Rosseau. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Teca "Simply Italian" offers delicious Italian food and is open only for dinner. Lakes has indoor and outdoor seating with views of the lake. They have a nice relaxed environment to enjoy a meal or catch up with friends and family. Muskoka Chophouse prepares custom prime cuts and has an extensive wine list. Their dress code is smart casual and reservations are highly recommended. The Country Market Resort Shop and Cafe has a small gift shop and food kiosk. Its a nice option to grab a quick snack or sandwich.

When it comes to entertainment there is no shortage at JW Marriott Lake Rosseau. In the summer there is biking, boating, fly-fishing, hiking, Jet-Skiing, Sauna, guided nature walks and more. In the winter there is snow skiing and the pools to enjoy. All year round you can enjoy table tennis, fitness, the pools, campfires, crafts and more. Some of the activities are also included in your resort fee so be sure to take advantage of that.

If you and your family are wondering where to visit in Ontario the Muskoka area is definitely worth visiting. We enjoyed relaxing in our room, kayaking on the water and ending the evening off with a camp fire.
