Cruise Line News | NCL Bankrupt? More Carnival Cancelations!
This week has been packed with Cruise Line News from Norwegian Cruise Lines nearing bankruptcy to Carnival being scolded by the US government and cancelling more ships there's lots to cover in today cruise news update!
On May 4th Carnival Cruise Lines announced that they will be extending their suspension. All Caribbean cruises have been cancelled until July 31st, there will be no sailings from San Francisco this summer and more. We believe this is a response to the letter from the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. On May 15th the committee requested more documentation from the cruise line.
Princess announced on Thursday May 6th that they have also extended their suspension and will not be sailing for the summer of 2020. They say this is because of limited flights and port closures.
Some cruise lines are also concerned if they will be able to survive much longer without any earnings. Norwegian Cruise Lines announced on Tuesday that they need to raise 2 billion dollars to hold for 12 months without any revenue.
